Pearl In My Oyster

Oyster is probably one of my favorite seafood to savor once in a while.I can eat them anytime of the year in the Philippines because it's cheap and available all year round. But since, I've moved here in the USA...I can only eat them in a certain months which it's safer to devour them in a raw.

It’s very true, that you can find pearls in them and if you’re lucky enough then you might find something big, precious and priceless. So I never, stop eating oyster and wishing to find something valuable in it. It would be wonderful and amazing if oysters start producing diamonds too.

I know, lot’s of people loves oysters but we all need to be aware about Gulf oysters and its marine organism called Vibrio vulnificus. This bacteria kills nearly half of the people it infects and almost all cases was from eating raw oysters. People, with diabetes, liver disease or have a weak immune system should completely avoid eating raw oyster.

Everyone, who love seafood especially oysters should be inform and get educated and be cautious about it. I urge you to check BeOsyterAware.com, the website is packed with information and even recipes that you can try. We don’t have to stop eating and enjoying our favorite oyster today!
