kare-kare

photo grabbed from tinypic

I made kare-kare for the first time. I used the mixed kare-kare for flavor. Instead of using oxtail I used neck bones and for vegetables. I used cabbage, zucchini and spinach. I know that it’s sound crazy but it turns out not too bad. I can’t wait to eat the authentic kare-kare, sisig, bulalo and everything else when I get in the Philippines. I can’t really eat a decent Filipino food around here not unless I have to drive for hours to Florida or Georgia. It sucks big time but I have no choice but to accept the fact that the decent Asian store is hours away from me. Oh well, I have an excuse not to eat too much.
